Who Are We?

Improve Business Academy is part of the consulting firm Improve Business.

At Improve Business Academy, we live by the well-known principle: “Hire for attitude, train for skills.”

We are an innovative employment program that creates value for both highly educated job seekers across Denmark and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Improve Business Academy was founded in 2022 by Founder and CEO Anne Hørsted, who has specialized in organizational change, leadership, recruitment, and competency development since 2015. Anne is also a keynote speaker and author of several publications.

Our team consists of individuals with diverse educational backgrounds. Our differences broaden our perspective, but we share one clear ambition: to challenge and change traditional, bias-driven recruitment practices. We choose to turn them upside down.

Rethinking recruitment through real impact

Through our consulting work, we have seen the same challenges again and again: companies struggle to attract and retain the right competencies, while highly qualified professionals struggle to translate their experience into real opportunities.

The Academy was created to bridge that gap. By combining structured learning, real business cases, and close collaboration with companies, we create new pathways into work – and new ways for companies to access talent, test competencies, and build stronger organisations.

This approach allows us to rethink recruitment as a process of mutual value creation, not just selection.

Our vision

Our mission is to change the traditional way of understanding competencies when it comes to matching candidates with companies. We work diligently to minimize well-known biases in both companies and candidates, so the focus is on motivation and potential rather than a backward-looking CV.

But we don’t do it alone. Strong partnerships and networks are crucial to us, and we are therefore proud that we have quickly established a broad network, a strong advisory board, and partnerships both nationally and internationally.

We believe that motivation and approach are the keys to success – and that is the approach we work with every day.
