A resetting and business-oriented program on the ‘positive list’
Improve Business Academy is a 6-8 week course for unemployed national and international job seekers, in close collaboration with a self-selected company and a current development project. We assist our participants in transitioning from theory to practice through a company internship, preparing them for their next job.
138 confrontation hours
Our program includes online teaching, 1:1 coaching, networking meetings with industry ambassadors, guides, webinars, and workshops on how to leverage skills and experience in the private sector.
First Half: 32 hours of confrontation time per week and 5 hours of project management in the company.
Second Half: 18.5 hours of confrontation time per week and 18.5 hours of project management in the company.
Confrontation Hours: Teaching, 1:1 guidance and coaching
Ongoing enrollment for national and international participants
We have ongoing enrollment every two weeks and offer a tailor-made program that adapts to the start date. In the Capital Region, we offer a 6-week course in agile project management and SCRUM. In Zealand, Funen, and Southern Denmark, Improve Business Academy is offered via the regional positive list in Funen.
The first weeks of the program focus on intensifying the participant’s job search through a renewed strategy, new methods, and 1:1 coaching on CVs, applications, network-based job searching, and interviews. The program also includes 4 weeks of relevant company internship for academics, where we continuously support the participant as a project manager and help them actively use the internship and the company’s network in their job search with great effect.

The numbers behind
All of our participants are placed in a company and solve a specific challenge.
Half of our participants are employed within 3 months of completing the programme.
We cover the whole of Denmark
We offer our programs for both Danish-speaking and English-speaking citizens nationwide, through the regional positive lists in the Capital Region and on Funen, as well as for other municipalities.
We match the unemployed person 1:1 with a local company based on a specific development project that the individual has chosen. As part of our process, we use blind matching and bias-free recruitment to ensure that each candidate has the same opportunity.
Improve Business Academy offers the unemployed:
- The opportunity to choose from a variety of specific company cases. Motivation and approach are the focus of the match.
- Collaboration with the company throughout the program, including 4 weeks of company internships for graduates.
- Competence development and 1:1 coaching throughout the program.
- Targeted focus on job search and project management.
Application process and start date
Participants apply for admission directly with us via a link provided after attending one of our weekly informational meetings. Job consultants are also welcome if they want more information about our program. Registration is available here on the website: (link)
Requirements for admission and matching a future participant:
- Referral/pre-approval from the job center
- A long or medium-length higher education (or experience considered equivalent)
- Motivation for the match
There is continuous enrollment throughout the year, except during the summer holidays in July. This allows citizens to sign up for the program when the timing is right—both in terms of motivation and other factors that might impact participation.
Which companies are involved?
We provide concrete development cases with local businesses, primarily private companies with 5 to 200 employees. These companies offer the greatest opportunities for employment. We only include sole proprietorships if there is a specific recruitment process. In addition, we also collaborate with patient associations, NGOs, festivals, and regional organizations.
It is also possible for an unemployed individual to establish a partnership with a company they have found themselves. We align expectations and participation terms with the company involved.
