Jonathan Engell is our sustainability consultant and lecturer at Green Transition in Practice. Jonathan has several years of experience in sustainable business development and green transition implementation.

Green transition

The course focuses on concrete, technical and operational changes – such as energy renovation, CO₂ reduction and green technologies – that companies need to implement to become more environmentally and climate friendly.

ESG reporting

You’ll learn how to work with voluntary standard of ESG reporting according to recognized standards and how companies can document and communicate their efforts across environmental, social and governance issues.

Sustainable development

Here we take the strategic helicopter perspective: How can companies integrate sustainability into their business model, value chain and innovation efforts? And how does it create long-term value?

What do you get from Green transistion in pratice

The teaching is practice-oriented and dialog-based, and you will have ample opportunity to apply your existing skills in a new context. The teachers on the course are themselves sustainability consultants and bring their cases from practice into the teaching and work with the specific company case.

Most of our courses are offered through the country’s positive lists. This means that you as an unemployed person can get our courses approved through your unemployment fund or job center.

Funding Options: The course is available for self-paying participants and is approved on the regional positive lists in the Capital Region, Region Zealand, Central Denmark Region, and North Denmark Region. It can be funded through your job center and unemployment insurance fund.
It may also be offered via the positive list in the Region of Southern Denmark, as they can borrow from neighboring regions’ lists.

Who can participate in the course?

The course is aimed at people with a medium or long higher education (bachelor, master or PhD) The course is relevant if you want to expand your existing skills with knowledge about sustainability, ESG and green business development in practice.

Motivation and relevant skills are essential to get the most out of our programs. You need to be open to bringing yourself and your skills into play in new ways and in new types of companies. If you don’t have the necessary background or motivation, our program will not help you move forward.

We want you to have the best possible experience and development with us, which is why we encourage you to contact us for an informal chat. If you have any questions or are unsure if we are right for you.

Can I take the course as unemployed?

Yes. The course can be approved as a job-oriented offer via your job center. Contact your job consultant to get it approved. We are happy to help you with documentation to get the program approved in the regions where the program appears on the positive list.

How does the training take place?

Teaching is a combination of physical attendance and online learning. You work both independently and in groups with concrete business cases, giving you practical experience.

How many hours per week should I expect?

The program is equivalent to a full-time course (approx. 37 hours/week), which includes teaching, group work, preparation and case work.

Do I get a certificate?

You will receive a certificate. You will receive a certificate documenting the ESG, green transition and sustainability competencies you gained during the course – strengthening your CV and job profile.

What if I get a job during the program?

It’s all good! During the course, we focus on linking the course to your job search. If you get a job during the course, the course is interrupted or you have the opportunity to continue until you start working.
